| We
have recently developed and designed Treadle pump which is commonly
used for irrigation purpose in Malawi and other African countries.

The
Salient Features Of Scheme Are As Follows :-
- Human
powered pump specially designed for small scale irrigation.
- High
capacity, 1.5 litres per second (5000 litres/hour) depending on the
operator and suction head.
- It
is portable and can be easily moved from one place to other .
- Can
easily be assembled and dismantled .
- Can
discharged water upto 3 metres above the pump level and 20 metres of
horizontal distance.
- It
has two cylinders due to which it pumps a continuous flow of water
The
pump mainly comprises of two cylinders, base board, treadles, pulley,
handle and 50 mm diameter discharge pipes.
